Who We Are

ChefsPrep Catering is a chef-owned catering company based in Louisville, Kentucky. In this policy, "ChefsPrep," "we," "us," and "our" mean ChefsPrep Catering. "You" means anyone who visits chefsprepmeals.com, submits an inquiry, or becomes a client.

This policy covers our website and the ways we communicate with prospective and current clients. It does not cover the practices of companies we do not own or control.

Information We Collect

We collect two kinds of information: what you give us directly, and what is gathered automatically when you use our website.

Information you give us

When you fill out our event inquiry form, email us, call us, or work with us on an event, you may provide:

• Your name, email address, and phone number
• Details about your event, including the date, type of event, venue or location, estimated guest count, and budget range
• Menu preferences, dietary restrictions, and allergy information you choose to share
• Anything else you include in a message to us
• Billing and payment information, which is processed by our payment provider and not stored on our website

If you tell us about a guest's allergy or dietary need, please share only what is necessary for us to serve that guest safely.

Information collected automatically

When you visit our website, certain information is gathered by our hosting and analytics tools, including:

• Your IP address and general location, such as city and region
• Your device type, browser, and operating system
• The pages you view, how long you spend on them, and the links you click
• The website or search engine that referred you to us
• The date and time of your visit

Website Visitor Identification

We want to be direct about this, because it is not obvious from simply using the site.

Our website runs visitor identification technology. This technology attempts to recognize visitors and match them with contact and business information from third-party data providers, even when the visitor has not filled out a form. It may produce a name, a business email address, a company name, or a professional profile associated with your visit.

We use this to understand who is researching our services and to follow up with businesses and event planners who may be looking for a caterer. We do not use it to identify guests at events, and we do not sell the information it produces.

If you would rather not be identified this way, you can:

• Email us at marcus@chefsprepmeals.com with the subject line "Opt Out" and we will suppress your information and stop processing it
• Enable Global Privacy Control in a browser that supports it, which signals that you are opting out of the sale and sharing of your personal information
• Use your browser's privacy settings or an ad and tracker blocker

Depending on where you live, this technology may be treated as the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information under your state's privacy law. You have the right to opt out, and we will honor that request at no cost and without penalty. See Your Choices and Rights below.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

Cookies are small files placed on your device. We and our service providers use cookies and similar technologies, such as pixels and scripts, to:

• Keep the website working properly and securely
• Remember your preferences between visits
• Understand which pages and menus draw the most interest

We do not sell your information to data brokers, and we do not rent our client list.

Service Providers We Work With

We rely on a small number of outside companies to run our business. Each has access only to what it needs, and each is expected to protect your information. They include:

• Our customer relationship platform. Hosts our event inquiry form and stores client records, notes, proposals, and our email and text message history with you.
• Our website host and security provider. Delivers our website, issues its security certificate, and filters malicious traffic. It processes IP addresses and request logs.
• Our visitor identification provider. Operates the technology described above.
• Our review display service. Shows our Google reviews on the site. Reviews are written on Google and displayed here.
• Search and analytics tools. Help us understand how people find and use the site.
• Our payment processor. Handles card and bank payments. Full payment card numbers are handled by the processor, not by us.
• Email and text message delivery services. Send the messages we write to you.

Email and Text Messages

When you submit an inquiry or become a client, we may contact you by email, phone, and text message about your event. This is how we confirm details, send proposals, and coordinate on the day.

If you give us permission, we may also send you occasional marketing messages. You can stop these at any time:

• Email. Click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any marketing email, or email us and ask.
• Text messages. Reply STOP to any text message. Reply HELP for assistance. Message and data rates may apply.

Opting out of marketing does not stop messages we need to send about an event you have booked.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are never shared with any third party. Information we share with the service providers listed above is limited to what is needed to deliver messages you have asked for, and those providers may not use it for their own marketing.

When We Share Information

We share information only in these situations:

• With the service providers listed above, so they can perform their work for us.
• With venues, event planners, and vendors involved in your event, and only what is needed to coordinate it, such as your name, the timeline, guest count, and load-in details.
• With our staff and contracted event personnel, including servers and bartenders working your event.
• When the law requires it, including in response to a subpoena, court order, or lawful request from a government or health authority.
• To protect people or property, when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to prevent harm, fraud, or a violation of our terms.
• In connection with a business transfer, if ChefsPrep is ever sold or merged, in which case information would move with the business and this policy would continue to apply until updated.
• With your permission, for anything else.

Your Choices and Rights

You can always ask us what we have about you and what we have done with it. Depending on where you live, you may have the legal right to:

• Know what personal information we have collected and how we use it
• Get a copy of your personal information
• Correct information that is wrong
• Delete your personal information
• Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, and of targeted advertising
• Not be treated differently for exercising these rights

Kentucky, along with California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas, Oregon, and a growing number of other states, has enacted a consumer privacy law granting rights along these lines. Rather than track which apply to you, we extend these choices to everyone who asks.

To make a request, email marcus@chefsprepmeals.com and tell us what you would like. We may need to verify your identity before acting, and we will respond within the time your state's law allows, generally 45 days. If you are making a request on someone else's behalf, we will ask for proof that you are authorized to do so.

If we deny your request, we will explain why, and you may ask us to reconsider by replying to our response.

How Long We Keep Information

We keep inquiry and client records for as long as we have a working relationship with you, and afterward for as long as we need them to run our business, honor warranties and insurance requirements, and meet our tax and legal obligations. In practice that generally means several years after your last event.

Website logs and analytics data are kept for a shorter period. When we no longer need information, we delete it or remove the details that identify you.

How We Protect Information

Our website is served over an encrypted connection. Client records sit in access-controlled accounts, and payment information is handled by our payment processor rather than stored by us. We limit access to the people who need it to do their work.

No website or business can promise perfect security. If we become aware of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by law.

Children's Privacy

Our services are for adults planning events. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.

Links to Other Sites

Our website links to other places, including our social media profiles and our Google Business Profile. Once you leave our site, this policy no longer applies. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of any site you visit.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as our business and our tools change. When we do, we will revise the date at the top of this page. If we make a change that meaningfully affects how we handle your information, we will make that clear on this page. Continuing to use our website after a change means you accept the updated policy.
