Meet Executive Chef Marcus Childs

Marcus Childs came to Louisville from Ohio in 2005 with sixty dollars, a 1995 Saturn, and the conviction that he could build something greater than himself. He took that leap grounded in faith, talent, and a willingness to outwork the doubt.

In 2011 he founded ChefsPrep Catering on a straightforward idea: every event deserves food made for the people in the room. That holds true whether it is an intimate dinner at home or a formal, multi-course celebration.

Since 2011, one event at a time, ChefsPrep has built a reputation for integrity, professionalism, and service that clients can count on. Today it serves weddings, corporate events, and private dinners across Louisville and the surrounding region, with a team of chefs, servers, and bartenders behind every event.

Marcus still sets the vision for the kitchen. He holds the team to a high standard of service and to one commitment above all: understand what the host is trying to create, then deliver more than they expect.

We cook from scratch, source carefully, and build each menu to reflect the occasion, then serve it with care and precision. Every ingredient is chosen with your guests in mind.

Your Culinary Team

Our chefs, servers, and bartenders are experienced in their roles and practiced at working together, so every event runs efficiently. We are at home in a wide range of settings, from outdoor barbecues to formal event halls. We work alongside planners, venue coordinators, and hosts, and we manage the logistics, dietary needs, and vendor coordination that keep an event on schedule.

We scale our team to the service your event requires, so a private dinner for eight and a wedding for three hundred receive the same attention. We stay flexible about your menu, your venue's requirements, and your coordinator's timeline. What never flexes is our commitment to the food and service your guests receive.
